Well, London was lovely. I spent my six days there happily eating and shopping and catching up with good friends. Seeing friends from home and being in a city with familiar brands, and, well, a familiar language, was a nice break. But I do have to say, I felt a bit homesick for Copenhagen while in the UK. I talked about CPH like it was some child of mine that I was proud of... I couldn't shut up about the Danish way of life. (Sorry 'bout that Charlotte, Marika & Rebecca!) And I'm a little surprised I didn't get run over; that whole driving-on-the-left-side-of-the-road thing really messed with me.
I opted out of doing major sightseeing - I spent a few days in London a few years ago and tackled most of the major tourist spots then - and instead did things that would give me a better feel for London culture. This included thrift and vintage shopping, high tea (!) and walking/bussing around the city. I'm glad I chose this route, though in hindsight I wish I could have gone to the Harry Potter Studio Tour (of course) and to a few free museums. Regardless of the wind/rain/snow/grayness of most days, too, London was beautiful.
A few photos:
