Greetings from Copenhagen!

I apologize for kinda going M.I.A, America... this has been a very busy week. Getting settled in slowly, there are a lot of pesky logistics to handle before I can launch into tourist-mode, like getting a bike, a cell phone, submitting visa paperwork, and so on. I'm also in my Danish language course from 9:00-12:30 every morning, and with the sun setting around 4:30pm, the days just fly by. So little time, so much to see and do.

But what I have seen of Copenhagen I absolutely adore. It is such a gorgeous city - old architecture and endless cobblestone streets makes the city feel so much more, authentic, or something, and the PEOPLE are gorgeous too! And I mean every single Dane is incredibly attractive - young, old, boy, girl, etc. They just know how to take care of themselves, know how to dress, know how to not get fat, something. It's really quite strange but it lends to the magic of it all.

I've met lots and lots of people from all over the world and am meeting more every day. Once I get my affairs sorted out, I'm going to try and sightsee a bit more (and take oodles of pictures) and get familiar with the city. But luckily I live VERY close to City Centre, which is their equivalent of downtown, so I've been going there often. I also live close to my campus, a few of the lakes, and some fun and youthful neighborhoods. You can walk/bike/metro anywhere in CPH in minutes from my place, so I will try not to take that for granted.

I really love my apartment, too. I live in a building that will soon house 20 international students (most should move in next week), all with their own room. My floormates are from Scotland, Hong Kong and Florida, and are all very kind people equally excited to be here and to have this experience. The picture above is the view from my balcony (I have a balcony attached to my ginormous bedroom!) at 8 AM this morning. It snowed last night, which I was ecstatic about, and I suppose was enough incentive to finally whip out my camera. Here's to many more beautiful mornings.

I have my language class for the next 2 weeks, then a little break before the semester starts. Danish is really hard, people! Don't think its like Swedish, it's not! The spelling may be similar, but the pronunciation is really very unpredictable. I butcher the language every day, but I'm catching on fast. Met some danes at a pub the other day, and apparently when I drink my accent improves incredibly. Hmm.

Sending love to you all from this chilly, beautiful city! More soon, I hope. And for those who have emailed me, I read and enjoyed them all, and will try and get back to you soon!
